Hi Peter,
You will need to make sure that you have the most updated version of Trek Manager which can be downloaded from
www.suunto.com. Often times the disk that comes with the watch is a full install, but there is a more updated version online which gets out these bugs.
As for software solutions, I do not know the answer to those questions, these will have to be forwarded to
Suunto's customer service in Finland. If you go to
Suunto.com - customer service - FAQs - ask
Suunto a question, this goes directly to Finland and they can pinpoint what errors you are getting from that error message.
