shane sweet:

you might think about buying the battery kit for $7 before going out and spending a couple hundred on a new watch. Don't know why, but after the 3x in one day of resets, and buying 2 kits, it hasn't reset once and I never even installed the kit. Kinda doing a test to see if it resets again. I's been almost a month now and all is fine. Suunto cust. service said it had something to do with normal heat buildup in the watch causing the battery, I guess, to swell and then when a new battery goes in, it is too small for the battery well and loses power for a split second causing the resets. since mine is doing ok for now, maybe the battery I bought at radio shack has broken in to fit the battery well. The radio shack battery costs more than the Suunto battery kit.

...just trying to rationalize the reasoning since after my explicit explanation, they only replied that I need to get a battery kit. good thing they are cheap.
