T3 & the Heartrate Belt while swiming

To be honest Suunto seem to be struggling to get there information together, it says on their site, in brochures and even in their manual the heart rate belt and the t3 will work whilst swimming.

What I want to know is who wrote this ****, hahahah!

I have tested the belt and the T3 whilst swiming and have found it only works when i reset my timer at the end of the lap, and i have to have my chest out of the water. So by the time my t3 finds the Heart Rate belt, my heart rate has died down and also I have no data to review later on.

I would love to see how my heart copes with lap 30 in comparision to lap 40 and so on. That was the idea behind getting the T3.

I like the style of the watch and some of the features, but the swiming issue is a majour concern for me. I will do some more research and try to find out if i am missing something.

In the previous comments above, someone said it may have to do with the amount of chlorine in the pool. Most people train in chlorinated pools surely they thought of this in development, otherwise I wander what type of water they expected us to be swiming in, spring water or something?
