T3 Wrist-top can't acquire signal Hello, I have used Polar for years and got fed up with the quality problems so I switched to Suunto. Being new, I have read the manual and thought I carefully followed the instructions regarding wetting the electrodes, size the strap etc. When I go into Training Mode and turn on the stopwatch, I get 00 for a hear rate. I have checked to see if there is a battery in the transmitter and have tried this several times. I also carefully read the manual where it said you could switch between displaying training effect and heart rate. I made sure I wasn't displaying training effect. Still I get 00. Am I missing something obvious? Regards, Sandra Carney

Hmm... Are you entering training mode AND using the stopwatch each time? Each time you enter the training mode, the t3 should automatically search for the signal, OR if you use the stopwatch. Try one or the other individually. It can take a few seconds for the watch to pick up the signal. If all else looks right (battery in the transmitter, etc.), I'd consider giving Suunto USA a call at 800-543-9124. Sorry you're experiencing difficulties, especially after moving away from anoter brand due to quality problems. The issues you experience are definitely the exception to the rule for the Suunto t-Series.

Ha! The other evening after putting on my HR belt before a workout, I entered Training Mode on my T3 only to notice that I was displaying "00" for heart rate, despite the watch saying it found the heart rate belt. While at first I was confused, I noticed that the heart rate WAS registering on the dial along the bezel of the watch. Turns out I had the center display set to reveal Training Effect (which was at 00 because I had yet to start the workout), not HR. I switched back and all was well.
