I agree with you that the
Suunto software is quite bad. It looks like 10 years ago and it's not very usefull. I just saw a couple of screenshots on your blog, it looks just the way it should look
Maybe you could look to the software of Polar. They also have a kind of
training manager that's a lot better than the
Suunto TM ( I once had a demonstration in a shop). Maybe you can get some ideas from that program too...
