Thanks for the reply Jaokim Agren.

I now have my X10 and have made my wind-up charger MkI. The charger works but I'm not entirely happy with it, so MkII is on the way. I still have not gone anywhere near discharging the X10 battery as I haven't done any heavy GPS use, so charging through the USB while connected to the trek manager has been enough.
