I was an early adopter and I faced the same issue. I picked this up within the first 2 weeks it was released and was disappointed when the bezel began peeling. After it started peeling I began a long and arduous process of scratching off the top layer with my fingernails as anything harder would scratch the plastic. I also rubbed it with my thumbs until it burned and blistered.
Finally I got it all off after 5-6 hours of rubbing and scratching every moment I had when I didn't need my hands. ie: watching tv
I was temporarily satisfied because the watch didn't look like it was falling apart for a few days until it cracked. WTF! Was I pissed! I got Finland to send me a new bezel. I replaced it and was very careful not to scratch the face. (Obviously defeats the purpose of an outdoor watch)
It began peeling again and I'm not sure if I want to rub it all off to have it crack again. The
x9 face doesn't fit or else I would have replaced the black matte one with the carbon fiber. Anyone try non corrosive solvents to rub off this top layer?
