Hi Guys
I bought a CORE Dec 08 and experienced of course the same problems with my batteries.
Sent it back to Suunto (took them only a week to sent it back...but I'm living in Europe) and received a brand new one 26th Mar 2009.
S/N is 9116xxxx
S/W is 1.1.0
H/W is 3A
Until now it works fine....I'll keep you posted
