I purchased a
Suunto Core / Black-Orange as a Chirstmas gift on Dec 2007. Two months after climbing Mt Rainier in July, the battery just died. I didnt bother replacing it and just returned it for warranty to look at it. After two weeks, I received a brand new replacement.
Suunto tech's didnt provide details why the first one failed.
Strange enough, the replacement started acting up by March. This time I decided to replace the battery assuming that
Suunto placed an old one on the supposed to be brand new replacement. After 5 weeks, the battery was dying again.
So, I returned again. I received another brand new replacement. This thing is getting old. If this 3rd unit fails again for the same reason, I am going to cite
Suunto for California's anti-lemon laws. The original
Suunto I purchased had S/N of 74xxx. The two replacemenbt have S/N's of 8xxxx. Either
Suunto will have to give me a refund or give the option to change to a different model.
My 3 year Polar RS100 is more durable than the hyped up
Suunto Core. I have always taken care of them and never even dipped once under water. But the RS100 got once on the pool but never broke. So far, I am not just dissappointed but pissed at the quality of the watch.
