not being funny here but why not just put a new battery in?
an 801 serial no was week 1 2008, so a year and 19 weeks, almost 20 weeks since it came off the production line, and
suunto have been known to use whatever stock of batteries they had lying around.
You'll probably find there's nothing wrong, certainly nothing requiring warranty work.
