I had this problem twice in little more than one year. The first time (see above) they replaced my belt with a standard belt. This one lasted about 6 months, then it stopped working. Now I received a replacement comfort belt, which is working fine so far and is indeed more comfortable to wear.
I think the old belt has/had a serious design flaw. In any case
Suunto's customer service is excellent: replacement via DHL is really quick and no costs at all. However, I hope I will not need it again.
