NDGraham is on a distinguished road
I returned my third Black Core today.

I was very chagrined to have to return my third Black Core to the store.
I really love this watch when it is working reliably.
The store dutifully took back the watches and sent them to Suunto who replaced all three
very quickly. I asked for a credit note this last time as I do not want a fourth Core.

In each case, the time started to flip around to other numbers without warning. In the last case, the time would suddenly reset itself to 12:00 after being reset to the correct time within an hour or so whether I was wearing the watch or not. I also noticed that the compass was acting funny as well and the baro was also giving erroneous readings. I had done the usual changing of the battery each time to no avail.

The serial numbers for the watches are as follows:
Serial number:
1. 7286xxxx purchased April 13, 2008.
2. 8161xxxx replaced May 26, 2008.
3. 8266xxxx replaced January 17, 2009 and returned today, May 31, 2009.

(Note: As a point of information, I learned that the first number in the serial number refers to the year the watch was made, 2007 or 2008.
The second two numbers refer to the week the watch was made, July 8-15 in the case of the first watch.)

For the record, I owned a Vector for almost 4 years before it conked out.
I admit I have been soured on Suuntos now but I am willing to look at other
models if they have proven to be reliable in the past.
So I joined this forum today to see how others are fairing with the Cores as well as other models.
I see I am in good company...
