X6 display quality

Hi - could any of you experienced users share your assessment on the display quality of the 6 series? I have a Vector and it will need a replacement soon. I think the contrast on the Vector's display is very good (positive face). I also have a T3 for training and I am not as happy with the contrast and readability. Seems like the X6 has a similar type of display.

Does the "plastic case" model of X6 come only with the yellowish display as seen on suuntowatches.com? I have seen other pictures of an X6 with a green/black case and a light green display. This seems to offer a better contrast, but I suspect this is an older model?

Is it right that the metal case models of the X6 display black digits on an almost white background? Which one would you recommend from a readability point of view?

The BLACK resin case X6HR has black digits on a white face and I have never had any trouble reading it. (I just got a new replacement model from Suunto.) The design of the case leaves something to be desired. You should absolutely get a watch protector for it, (Suunto Watch Protective Shields - Face Protectors) since there is no rased lip to protect the crystal. I have, however, had many problems with the watch since I have owned it in 2002. It has been replaced 11 times. The most recent incident occurred last month. See my post below under "tale of woe"
