| SUUNTO and we users deserve a better software! Dear all! Are there any developers out there in the Suunto-X6HR-community, who want a better software? READ THIS: www.science-sportsware.d k/english/developers.htm Developers The Training Diary started as a personal project because the author needed a personal training logbook but didn't find any suitable on the market and thus decided to create his very own. If you feel that The Training Diary doesn't fit your needs and you're interested in enhancing the program please contact Science Sportsware and describe your project. Please be fair! :-) We cannot support competing projects. What we can support is add-ons, reports, import / export routines, tools etc. There is however no restriction on how you want to use your enhancement though we encourage you to share it with other users releasing it as either freeware or shareware. You'll propably need to reach the program database tables so you should know a little SQL. We will be happy to describe the database structure for you or even create a few queries to get you started. The program printable reports are written using QuickReport for Delphi but you could use any report builder. If you'd like to create a build-in feature to be compiled with the program you should use Delphi (no later than version 5 and please no custom components). We do require you to make it freeware and we need the source code as well. That sounds good, doesn`t it! Unfortunately I am just a user, but no developer.... But maybe there are some people out there who could do this easily... greetings markus |

| there must be a better way to replace luck... On the one hand a (nearly) perfect watch, the X6HR, on the other hand a poor software, the SAM. There must be ways to get a better solution! Here is my request to science sportsware denmark, another candidate for a powerful alternative to SAM from Suunto: Dear Science Sportsware team! I suppose you are familiar with SUUNTO, another finnish manufacture of heartrate-monitors. I own the X6HR, which collects HR-data (2 seconds, 10 seconds or 60 seconds intervall), altitude, barometric pressure and temperature values. This can be downloaded to the PC via a serial connection. Unfortunately the software supplied by SUUNTO (Suuto Activity Manager SAM 2.2) is very poor in functionality and not user-friendly at all. Although heavily requested by its customers there has been no real improvement over one year. Therefore I am looking now for new ways to use the as a HRM excellent X6HR for serious marathon and cycling training. Your software looks very impressive, it would be great if there would be a way to use the SUUNTO X6HR with it. Is there a way to do this; if not, could you create a "plugin" as you did for other heart rate monitors. There are a lot of SUUNTO-customers out here who would love to have a decent software for their X6HR (and pay for that) I will post my request to you on the suunto-sports-website (cross-sport discussions SAM) to create more requests from other customers. thanks for your answer in advance Markus Lobendanz m.lobendanz@lks.at Please request the same as I did fom science sportsware via www.science-sportsware.dk and maybe if we are enough interested in a X6HR-"plugin" (they already have one for polar, acumen and cardiosports-files) than this might be a solution. Another way might be to contact www.pccoach.com They also have plugins for other HRM (like POLAR) for their software. Come and join for a better software. greetings markus |
