They don't need to because jewerly stores will handle most watches. I've had several diving watches and always had the battery replaced for about $5. They won't touch the
Suunto and neither will the sports store where it was purchased, so
Suunto has to offer self-service kits. I just wish the cover were better designed so it doesn't self-destruct. The battery and "o"-ring (if needed) are easily obtained.
