Unhappy X9i Turns itself off

I purchased my X9i at an AAFES in Bagram Afghanistan in September 2006 and it has been giving me fits for the last three months. Even on a full charge I will occassionally look at my wrist and the display is blank just like when it came out of the box new. If I reconnect the power cable to the watch it immediately turns back on and still has a full battery charge. The time and alarms however must all be reset.

Any ideas?

Major Adams,

It sounds like you need to contact Suunto to send your unit in for repair. Their number is 800-543-9124. Hope this helps!

I used to have the same problem. The unit goes off at unexpected moments. Then I searched hard for an answer. Then I found it. The backlight "night" mode was on when I had the fits. I turned it to normal, then the fits were gone.
