| What??? If I read the NMEA standards correctly, then no. The NMEA is for marinf use and implies that the GPS unit broadcasts a position to be read by a computer for rescue purposes... For this application you want an EPIRB or a PLB. This is just a GPS RECEIVER it does not broadcast any signal to another unit.. Further if I read the NMEA standards, the unit needs to have an realtime data output so that other devices (like a computer) can receive the data and display it in a graphical format, again, this is not the case.. The X9 is designed to operate as a GPS on your wrist, or not at all... |
