| X9 for paddlers? Currently using a 3 year old Advizor with great results. As a backpacker/hiker on the AT its uses are many. But we are also avid sea kayakers and am studying the X9 for its global positioning ability.....usually we strap a Garmin onto the for deck of the kayak, but in the event of loosing the boat a GPS on the hand could save the day. Your thoughts please... Also, this watch would be dipped into salt water over and over with every stroke....do you think the designers had this possibility in mind versus the typical hiker, backpacker??? |

| I think the X9 would handle this fine, as long as you avoided pushing buttons while it was submerged. (It's rated as water resistant down to 330 feet.) Also, I might mention that there's a 2-Year Warranty on Suunto watches, so in the unlikely event of there being any trouble, you'd be covered.
