This thing gets worse. Having had to tell the guys at
Suunto what was wrong with their Trek manager software (apart from not working with any of the great mapping packages we have available in the UK, unlike Garmin and Magellan), I used it whilst out running yesterday and the route it recorded was, to put it mildly, garbage. I just ran 2.25 miles out and 2.25 miles back down the same road. The track it recorded said i'd run 6.04 miles (it's nowhere near that - checked it on a Garmin today) at an average of 10mph (I'm not a bad runner, but 6 minute miles up a very steep hill are not my bag!) with a maximum of...get this...28mph!! Now I think I'd have noticed if I'd had a lift in someone's car! And to put the tin lid on it, my out and back route had been transformed into a large circle!
This thing is junk - and if I hadn't paid so much money fot it it'd be in the bin. As it is, Ive waited so long for
Suunto to not find out what's wrong with the software I'm outside the 'sale or return' period with the dealer - let's just hope they're feeling generous and allow me to return it.
I just hope to goodnes someone's not going to try navigating seriously with this lump of rubbish - someone will get killed walking off a cliff in a whiteout.
