| Hi All, Post no 1 for me! I just got a X-Lander, great watch. I am wondering if it is at risk of damage from strong magnetic fields, or just getting out of calibration? I am flying later this week (passenger) and I am wondering if I should remove the watch and place it through x-ray with keys and all the other stuff in case the airport metal detector field can damage the inbuilt compass? I can find no mention in FAQ or the manual, can anyone confirm its ok to wear through metal detectors? (basically becauase I am likly to forget and do so anyway one day! )Don't mind re-calibration as its pretty easy, just don't want to risk permanent damage to the watch. Paul. |

| And to answer the questions... Very impressed with Suunto service: Thank you for contacting Suunto. All Suunto wristop computers are electronic devices and their compass could be affected by magnetic detection devices, but in case that happens the compass can be calibrated again and this way it will return to normal functions. With Best Regards, Suunto Helpdesk Just in case anyone else is googling for the same answer.... |
