Yachtmaster

I purchased aa Yachtmaster one year ago and now it is showing bars where they shouldn't be.

Example:

It is now 3:30 but when I look at the Yachtmaster, it looks like it says 8:30. There are also LCD(?) lines showing on other places. I just repolaced the battery yesterday thinking it might be the battery but it doesn't change. As a matter of fact it looks worse, it now shows the battery icon.
Can anyone help?

The display on your Yachtsman is sometimes are hard to see on an angle. If it's worse with a battery change, you might want to send your Yachtsman in for service. There is also a slight chance the battery you replaced was weak. Yoy can test the battery at a jeweler or use a battery tester from Radio Shack.
