Unhappy Suunto Mariner not keeping time

I've had my Mariner watch (purchased through Sailnet.com) for about 1 year and I like a lot of the features but it is miserable at keeping time which seems unforgiveable for a watch that costs this much money.

As an example, I set my watch to sync it with my handheld GPS (very accurate time hack) on Saturday afternoon. It is now Tuesday morning and the watch has lost 2 seconds. Very frustrating.

Another issue is that every now and again the watch will reset to 1/1/2000 @ 18:00. It will do this even when it is sitting quitely on my dresser waiting for me to put it on for the next regatta.

Is anyone else experiencing these issues with their Mariner?

This sound like a warrenty issue.

Go to www.suuntousa.com, email them at warranty@suuntousa.com or call them at 800-543-9124. They are the US Distributor, they can either warranty it if it is under 1 year old or refurbish it for anywhere from $35 to $50, which is really a great deal for all they do, it will come back like new.

Hopefully this helps

Wink RMA

Thanks Trevor. Contacted Suunto USA and they were very helpful. I've got my RMA and the watch is already on the way back. Fortunately I still had a whole 2 days left in my warranty. I hope this is a one-off problem and not indicative of these watches. Can't be sure as this is my first Suunto.

Thanks for your "push".
