did tiny bits and pieces of your x10 bezel peel off? did it develop a hairline crack out of nowhere? use to the full extent the warranty that came with your purchase... but if you're tired like me here is a quick work around and save yourself from stress.

as long as the bezel clip hinges are not broken, you might want to fix it yourself.

1. to remove the bezel, unscrew and peel the watch from its bracelet. gently lift one of the clip hinges to free the bezel. note there are two double adhesive tapes located on the top and bottom sections at the back of the bezel, expect some resistance.

2. use the finest sand paper to remove the rubbery surface of the bezel. if there is a crack apply super glue or epoxy then sand paper the hardened excess to even out with the remaining surface.

3. use masking tape to conceal the clip hinges and the top and bottom guides behind the bezel.

4. spray several passes of paint (a color of your own choosing and it could still be black) as you see fit and let dry. i used silver acrylic paint. a clear coat too would be nice. just avoid making it too thick, the x10 has a radial antenna underneath this plastic.

5. apply a new double adhesive where the original ones were on the watch case. however if your tape is thicker it may cause the bezel to pop out. check if only one will suffice. put the bezel and watch together.

6. when pairing the watch assembly with the bracelet make sure the top and bottom guides are snug fit. don't forget to ***** them together.

7. tadda!

now the most interesting question is, how does your x10 look?

if you've done anything like this, please post your x10 pics!

i hope its not "bedazzled" but its your call!!!

T6d EPOC based recovery need vs. firstbeat RRI based actual recovery status

Dear all,

recently I purchased the new Suunto t6d heartrate monitor because I really trained too much and too often to get highly negative energy balances to get rid of body fat very quickly, the result was rather good (20kg/2 months). But now once body fat percentage is great my aim is to improve my rel. Vo2max level which will not happen when training to much without sufficient recovery time in between.

Since it is very important not to restart training when body recovery processes from training are not yet fully completed (otherwise decrease of performance, cf. supercompensation training) I purchased a Suunto t6d with live TE prediction based on EPOC prediction, the height of indirect EPOC prediction showing me how long I have to rest after training to pay off my oxygen debt. This is what is explained in the Suunto t6 training book "how not to rely on luck when optimizing your training effect" on the graphic on page 21 (german version of training book). But according to this graphic when I achieve a training effect of 4.0 I have to stay at rest for 1 to 4 days, so when should it be 1 day or 4 days, this is close to a subjective assessment of recovery and not very precise information in my opinion!

Firstbeat technologies the inventor of the Suunto indirect EPOC prediction method offers a software named HEART RATE BASED RECOVERY ANALYSIS FOR ATHLETIC TRAINING, showing the actual recovery status of the sportsman interpreting the heart rate interval variability (RRI) over night.

So if this software is compatible (no official written information on this from firstbeat customer service since weeks nor a quote!) with the new model t6d (and not as expensive as the watch which already measures RR-Intervals!) this would be a perfect recovery status information showing when to restart training and when not based on objective information.

Since my t6 already measures and saves the RRI data in the training logbook (this is the speciality of T6 series) I wonder really why there is no useful information on this in Suunto's Movescount.com where you can see graphically the time difference between heart beats in 2sec or 10sec intervals (depending on your settings) but however the heart rate variability or at least the average RRI is not indicated on the graphic as compared to the other 6 body parameters.

I would highly appreciate more statistical information on RRI in mouvescount and ask therefore if further tools and assessments are likely to be implemented in mouvescount or rather not due to commercial contracts between you Sunnto guys and the firstbeat guys.

fanks in advance for your honorable feedback and greats from Germany,
Patrick

I saw a lot of people here complaining about not being true temperature or altitude
So we will give you some valuable information
1.about the temperature:
To measure temperature effectively Depose watshe of the wrist and To measure temperature effectively Depose time of the wrist and wait 15 to 30 minutes..
2Height
This tool of the type barometric measurement of height relative to atmospheric pressure. When increasing the height Enkfez pressure and vice versa ... altimeter measures the difference Zguet and appears on the screen height
Because of the use of pressure to calculate the height becomes the measure of height is sensitive to fluctuations in air pressure when the weather changes
It is not uncommon for the difference in height of up to 100 meters in one night
Is therefore to change the value shown in the display without changing the digital elevation

Change of weather = change pressure = Height adjustment before

I DON4T KNOW WHY SUUNTO DOSENT SAY THIS INFRMATION IN USER GUIDE,,,

Hallo Friends,
before, my english is not the best, hope you understand me:cool:

I have bought the Suunto X10. First i have installed the Driver and Software on my Laptop (Vista 32 bit), The Track exporter says there is no Google Earth on my Laptop, but I have installed it. After I have tried it on my PC with Windows 7 64 bit. Same there. Does anybody have a solution for that?

After I have tried to change the registry like wrote in this Thread:
http://forum.suuntowatches.com/suunt...-exporter.html

I have tried to put this into the registry:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell NoRoam\MUICache]
"C:\Progra~2\Google\Google Earth\client\googleearth.exe"="Google Earth"

But it doesn`t work. Maybe because i have a German Windows 7??!?!??

Does anybody have a solution for that, or is there a Plan for an update for the Track Exporter? I only need Google Earth to look at my Tracks, because it`s the easyest way.

Please Help, without this, my X10 is not good and I will send it back!

This happens because magnetic North and true North are not at the same location, you must set the declination on your compass. The angle in between magnetic and true north in your location on earth is called declination.
The magnetic North changes everyyear even everytime that's why we need to set and correct this value at least one time a year.
I found a website which includes the declination values according to locations. The link is below.

Hi,

Since I practice more mountainering than skiing, I would replace the firmware of my S6 by the one of X6. I think it is the same hardware.
Is it possible, do we have a procedure ?

Thanks and regards.
