Setting Reference values for SUUNTO CORE

Hi. currently I am at 709ft elevation with a 1002hPa.....just checked the national weather service

however, i keep setting my elevation to 709ft and the darn thing keeps jumping back up to 715ft...

In order to get it actually set to 709ft, I have to set it for 705ft and then it stays at 709ft....

what in the world is going on here?

I must admit, I am a beginner in this stuff. I recently got this watch as a gift and want to learn more about it. I read the whole manual and understand alost everything, but this is starting to bewilder me...

thanks for your help

i set it to be milibars and the altimetere still changes by 5-8 feet after setting it right away...but the barometer has been dead on and altitude is within +/- 20ft at various locations..such as my house, work, other landmarks so I am happy so far

If i keep having to change it to keep it accurate, i may mail it in for warranty repair
