suunto observer compass problem

Since a while, my compass indicates a false bearing, around an average direction even when I make a 360 rotation. Like it is mentionned in the manual, I tried a new setting (§5)... By the past it used to work, but since a while it is inoperative. In fact, when in this mode it is demanded to push the "quick" button, and tryind to make 1 or 2 360° rotation, only let's say 45° of the crown switches off, whatever sense of rotation tried!!!

Could it be a problem of battery??? I don't think so because I tried to replace it...no change at all!!!

Could you help me to solve that problem???

Sometimes I have to callibrate mine several times before all the little boxes disappear around the edge of the watch as I rotate it, especially if I haven't done it for a while. Mine regularly goes out of callibration especially as I use the tube a lot in London where magnets play havoc with the watch.

Like p6steve I have the same experience. Calibrated the compass but had to try a few times before the dots in the outer circle disappeared (as an indication of a good calibration).
