| I've found that most retailers of Suunto watches seem to be fairly competitive, but jomashop.com and jomacrystal.com (which incidentally appear to be the same store) are noticeably less expensive (~30% below suggested retail). AND, these online shops have received Yahoo's "Five Star Top Service" ratings for merchants. How can they be so much cheaper? What am I missing? I know with camera equipment you find a similar pricing difference for stuff with a US v. international warranty. Is this the reason? Thanks! -Perplexed |

| Even though jomashop.com is in the U.S., they are not an authorized dealer of Suunto USA. They are most likely getting products from one or more product diverters. Because of this, they are frequently out of stock on Wristops. I actually have read some emails from a jomashop customer who was strung along two months and he never rec'd his Wristop. There is a strong chance that Wristops from jomashop.com will not receive a U.S. warranty if there ever is a repair issue. AltimeterGuy |

| I have heard numerous stories of them not coming through for people after taking there credit card and charging it. Plain and simply they are not an Authorized dealer. Whether the watches they sell (of any brand) are authentic, 2nds... or... it's your risk. If they were a good business, with legitimate practices, I'm sure that Suunto or anyone else would open them. It's not that difficult to become a watch dealer. But the fact is they've been shut down by numerous companies for their way of doing business. That in itself says something. Hope that helps,

| Jomashop and Suunto Warranty I contacted Suunto USA about Jomashop. They told me they will *not* honor the warranty if you buy from Jomashop. I also contacted Jomashop. They said they offer a one year warranty of their own. Troy Martin |

| Wow, it's been about 2 years since the last time I addressed this forum question. And so much has come up since then on this subject. As Suuntowatches.com, hopefully all of you know as it's posted on every page of our site, we are NOT Suunto, but just a dealer. But sometimes people think we are Suunto, and we have recieved A LOT of calls complaining about lost funds from Jomashop, people not getting product for months after ordering and worst of all, denied warranty claims from THEM. Suunto went as far as to implement a serial number tracking system to find out where they are getting them, and of course to be sure to warranty watches from all authorized dealers out there. They are trying to crack down on them, but there will always be a black market. I'm not telling you where to buy your watch, this route is a risk, no doubt, but you may save a few bucks, you may lose. so..... your call.
