Is there a WATCH that can give you speed?

I am curious if there is a watch that can give me speed....i.e. how fast am I really going in my car, or my boat, personal watercraft etc.?

Will suunto come out with that? The Golf one is cool with the GPS etc but if it has GPS then it should be able to calculate the rate of change between the points and then do some calculations for speed etc.

There is not a watch released YET that will do this, the S6 will do something similiar but not with GPS but rather with the inclination while skiing.

judging from the breakdown of the watches features the S6 will only be able to give you speed if you are travelling in a up/down AND forward direction.

It doesn't seem like it would be a tool that someone like cross-country skiers would use. Downhill skiers and racers will be able to love this watch.

I was hoping for a "speedometer" on your wrists. For your car, for your jetski, for your horse, etc etc etc.

I think that would sell in the watercraft etc space.

For that, we're talking about a GPS unit, which Suunto plans on releasing, no official word on when yet or exact details of functionality, but it is in the works. Stay tuned......
