Unable to open battery compartment I have an Advizor. Had it since it first came out. I have changed the battery several times. Each time it was harder to open battery compartment. The last time I tried it stripped the edges off the slot and I can no longer use that to open it. I need to replace the battery. I see that I can now buy a battery kit. But how do I get the old cap off? And its almost glued shut. I guess the two years of usage, and sweat somehow stuck the cap onto the ring and battery compartemnt. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're supposed to use a nickel to open the battery kit. It seems like you stripped the slot on the battery cover if you can not remove it. I always recommend changing the battery with a replacement battery kit as this gives you a new cover and "o"ring in addition to the new battery. If you or a jeweler/watch repair person can not open the battery compartment, you will probably have to send your Wristop back to Suunto USA to get the battery cover off and a new replacement kit installed. You can call 800-543-9124 ext. 2 to get a RA# to do this. AltimeterGuy

I can't get the cover off my battery compartment. I think I replaced the battery once and the legend on the compartment lid, with the dot and arrows going off to left and right, is at about 120 degrees counterclockwise to where it should be lining up with the same legend on the case. I can turn the cover so I think it is open--the battery wasn't totally dead, and now it's not making contact, so I think it's loose all right, but I can't get the cover to come up out of its position so I can grab it and remove it. I thought about using a plumber's quick set epoxy to glue a "handle" to the cover that I could grab onto and pull on. I'm afraid to use a small screwdriver to try to pry it up from the circumference, thought that would ding up the case side and make it useless in the future. Any ideas? LEIBOV

Stripped Battery Call customer service... For $75 they will totally refurbish your watch.. They take your current watch innards and put it in a new case, new band, new crystal... giving you essentially an new watch... It takes about a week or two, but I did it to my old metron, and it is totally worth it.. ejunge
