| seconds notification? I have been looking into Suunto for about a year now. I have read much about them , and really would like the Vector. I am an EMT and most of us use a watch with a second hand for vitals. If I am correct, there is an area around the watch where the seconds show by a black dot(s)? PLEASE let me know if this is right, as I would have to have this feature. At this time, the vector is the one I could afford, besides, I like it the best. Also, I understand that I could wear the Vector swimming as long as I did not push the buttons? Our summers are very short, but I would still like to know I would not have to take it off every time I go snorkeling. TY! emt |

| The main function of the outer segments is related to the compass mode, where a division into 36 segments is necessary due to the 360 degree scale of a compass....in the time mode, the segments show the advancement of seconds....because the number of seconds differs from the number of degrees...it is impossible for the segments to be consecutively lit up...they now light up or extinguish...thereby marking the passing of every second...once you get the hang of the on and off sequenceical movement of the segments..... seconds are very easy to determine or go into the chrono mode to get a direct font readout of seconds.....also the watch is ok for swimming.. Cheers Neil
