| Barometer mode I'm the proud owner of a Suunto Observer but there is still something I don't understand. In the barometer mode the user sets the pressure at the sea level. After that it's possible to see the current absolute pressure from the bottom field display. My question is now why does it always show as 4 hPa less than the pressure at the sea level? The Finnish Meteorological Institute gives the pressure at sea level (Helsinki) and close to the place where I live. In fact I'm now quite close to the coast (Helsinki) and the both values (sea level and absolute) of the pressure should be quite the same but they differe by 4 hPa. -leif laaksonen |
