I have had my
observer for a month now and am familiar with all the functions which are explained in the manual clearly enough, all except one - the SNR setting in time sub mode (the one the manual recomends is not used)
As I understand this is the current absolute pressure reading (it seems to always be the same as the absolute reading on the barometer screen). I searched all posts on this site and others to find other info but have come up with only bits - you can input the exact absolute pressure if known and it can be returned to the factory setting marked def if altered.
My home is 9m elevation and the
observer tracks the pressure "exactly" as it appears on the net so I have had no need to use this mode, but am i right in thinking that at higher altitudes it may be less accurate.
Can anyone tell me how this works and if it is safe/wise to change the SNR reading, and if it is why does the manual say not to.
