After owning the
observer for a little while I wanted to drop a couple of notes about it here. First off the sensors and function of the watch are top notch. Very impressive compared to the inaccurate measurements of my casio pro trek. The part where this watch really falls short is the durability. It's extremely disappointing that the watch
band options are very deceiving. Both the titanium and steel options are the exact same plastic
band with small metal accents across the top of them. The clasp is different, but it sounds like a lot of people have trouble with the clasp and it may be worth skipping that. Do not waste your money on the titanium unless the weight is a HUGE factor to you. It's lighter, but there isn't enough difference to make it worth it. The
band is STILL plastic. The glass on the watch scratches VERY easily. After just one day of owning the watch I already had a large scratch across the face of the watch. I barely brushed against something. I own several other watches (including the casio pro trek) and have never experienced this with much worse abuse. This was very disappointing for a watch that is listed as "extra durable" by most
suunto sites.
Does anyone know a good service to get the glass replaced with a sapphire synthetic?
