| MY X6HR is on order and all research I've come up with is that it ships with a DB9 pin serial cable. Is this cable Male or Female? My laptop is only rigged for USB and is running Win XP. Many of the USB to serial converters on the market only ship with Win 2000 drivers. Are any users of the X6 using a converter with Win XP? More specifically, does anyone know if the Startech USB converter (ICUSB232) is compatible with a Suunto X6 on an XP computer? Any Suunto compatible USB to Serial configurations would be a welcome sight on this thread. Thanks, Damian |

| The cable supplied with the X6/X6HR has a female serial port connector to hook up to a male connector on a PC. The king of the hill on serial-to-USB connectors is Keyspan. I use their high speed adapter that can be found at www.keyspan.com with the Suunto Activity Manager software. I know this one works with Windows 98. You can find this adapter for $60 at CompUSA and MicroCenter in the U.S. or can order it directly from their website. I'm not sure if the drivers work with Windows XP. They might have info on their website or I suggest giving them a call. AltimeterGuy |
