Bike pod doesn't fit.

I've installed the bike pod as instructed but it skews the front wheel causing the brake to rub. My Reynolds Ouzo pro fork has a small lip on the inside where the wheel hub meets the fork. This protrusion causes the bike pod to sit at an angle which, in turn, throws off the wheel alignment. As I understand it, most bicycle forks have this lip in order to prevent the front wheel from dropping out of the fork if the wheel skewer becomes loose.

Does anyone have a solution?

At first glance, I think it's a design flaw by Suunto. Maybe an odd-shaped washer could be fabricated to complete the half circle of the fork "lip" and thereby create a flat surface for the pod to sit against. Two potential drawbacks to this solution are (1) the wheel could be pushed to far to one side of the fork and (2) this safety feature of the fork would be negated.

Alternatively, the shape of the pod could be modifed into an "L" shape that would allow the pod to be installed on the outside of the fork but still give enough clearance around the fork to come in contact with the spoke magnet.

I suppose the lip could be filed off of the fork too but I'd rather not mess with that.

Suunto said that they are having some problems with certain forks. They are working on a solution right now but don't know when they will release. Keep checking www.suunto.com for updates.

Same problem with my mountain bike forks, wont fit to the rear, it will however fit to the front, but then it is unprotected. Solution, mine is mounted verticaly upwards & it hasn't made any difference to the accuracy (yet!!) Worth a try if your struggling to get the pod to fit.

Regards
Paul

Same issue

I have the same problem as you all, only there doesn't seem to be any way to get the sesnor on my front fork without bending it. It fundamentally doesn't work with my mountain bike (RockShoc). Anyone know who to contact to make a little noise? I don't really want to wait for Suunto to post something.
