I have a pretty old
Vector and it has this problem that the logbook starts with just one press of the + button in Alti mode. This is increadibly annoying. My logbook memory quickly filled up with log recordings started by accident. Plus I never want to start a logbook during a hike because chances are that I will accidentally stop it. This is especially a problem in the winter, wearing large gloves or mittens.
I was just wondering if this is still an issue with newer
Vector models? It is almost unbelieveable if
Suunto hasn't fixed it yet. My user's manual suggests leaving the watch in another mode than Alti to avoid start/stops. But when you are climbing a mountain you really want to keep an eye on the altimeter, and the altitude does not show in time or baro mode.
Apparently the
Observer and
Advizor require two quick presses on the same button to start and stop the logbook. Much better. A long press (as for the backlight) could be another solution.
I really hate this because otherwise the
Vector is a great watch.
