| Great watch face protector for X-Lander! DISCLAIMER: I received a free skinz for helping this company develop a skinz for the X-Lander. I do not receive any other compensation. Although the X-Lander has a mineral glass face, I was concerned that over time I was going to scratch the lens of the watch. I'm pretty careless about such things, and bang my hands and wrists against walls, objects, forehead, etc frequently. After thinking about how I could protect the watch face, I discovered I already had a solution for a different device I already owned! I've been using a Blackberry Storm for the past 6 months, and when I first got the phone I was worried about damaging the click-screen. After researching the Blackberry forums, I decided on the Phantom Skinz: PhantomSkinz Installation Tips & Pics for the Blackberry Storm - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com This product is basically a "self-healing", optically-clear protection film that you apply on top of the screen of your electronic device. After applying on the Storm, the film is still nick and scratch free after 6 months of surviving in my pants or coat pocket, even in my backpack! I asked PhantomSkinz if they had a similar film for the X-Lander, but they didn't. Instead, they offered to work with me to develop one. I provided the shape and measurements, and they cut it to fit. Installation was easy on the X-Lander, as the watch is waterproof anyways: 1. Wet your fingers with water. 2. Peel off a skinz, immerse in water for 60 seconds. 3. Meanwhile, clean off the watch face with lint-free cloth. 4. Remove skinz from water, shake off excess water, and apply to watch face. Be careful not to let any dust or air bubbles get trapped underneath the film. 5. Let film dry, and voila! I included an attachment with BEFORE (images on left side) and AFTER (images on right side). Note that the viewing angle on the after photos is different from the angle on the before photos. Thus, the watch face appears slightly "gray" from the near-parallel viewing angle. However, if you view the watch face less obliquely it is actually very clear without any haziness or translucency. Nice! Needless to say, I'm quite happy with this product as I was already happy with its performance on my Storm. But now, my X-Lander is happy too, and I don't have to worry about damaging the face of my new toy (er ... I mean investment).
