Would love advice on saving my beloved Metron. Recently after a battery replacement with a non-factory gasket, I found water in the case. I dried the watch in 100 degree oven, and placed it in an airtight box with medication dehumidifiers. Sadly, the battery at the time of the incident only lasted another 2 days. Two separate new batteries each lasted for 4 days, after which the low battery indicator was activated, and then the watch went dead. I suspect the moisture caused a short-like problem.
I really like the watch, and It carried me across 3 Ironmans and 7 marathons. Is there any way to purchase a new internal device and swap out the old one, or buy a used
Advizor, and remove the working innards and swap out the battery eating one? I called
Suunto, and they advise they no longer support the metron, but It appears to be the same chip as the
Advisor.
Thanks for any suggestions. I may just buy a
Vector HR, but I prefer the look of the Metron.
