| Horrible pricing! Horrible pricing! Just some thoughts on the pricing of the Suunto Core watches! Considering the fact that all the 6 models have exactly same functionality the only difference is in the material of the case and band I think the $350 span is quite wide… (if it would be a titanium case and band it would at least make sense, but $350 more for steel?) The two models I initially looked at were the Light Green $249.99 and Light Black $349.99 but after playing around with both watches in the store I decided to buy a different brand for much less. What surprised me was the questionable quality of the watches bezel and bands. The bezel on the Light Green did not rotate at all - it was stuck(!) and all the other watches had very lose bezels that almost felt they would come off any minute. Also comparing the Light Green and the Light Black I still don’t understand why the Light Black is $100 more - They are both plastic watches and although the band on the Green is horrible it does not justify the huge price difference. 250 would be a fair price for any of the models, maybe 100 bucks more for an aluminum or steel one would make sense but to have such a wide gap for the same product just doesn't make any sense to me. Any thoughts or comments? |

| I completely agree with you. To me Suunto is charging a lot of for their accesories. As an example my Observer steel strap is described as a STEEL STRAP when in fact is a rubber strap. Is an ABSOLUTE ripoff at $100. I have bought a Core and I returned it. The bezel was loose and it RATTLE at the same time. I guess that Suunto is cutting costs at the expense of the consumer. There is always economics at play, they save money by manufacturing in China, quality went down. All the Core I have seen they either had extremely stiff bezels that could not be turned or completely loose bezels. Apparently there is no quality control with the new Core model. Gone are the days when most everybody would buy a Vector. They WERE good watches. I am beginning to lose faith in Sunnto. |
