I hate my core, its terrible.

Had the core for a little over a month. I hate it. I wish I didn't sell my Xlander on Ebay. The orange band discolors and fades. The plastic has a poor fit. The Baro, ALti, and Storm Warning are all over the place regarding readings, remember I'm comparing this against the Xlander. It seems like Suunto cost reduced this model, maybe its made is China. I sent 2 emails to Suunto, they are unresponsive to even replace the band. I wish I could recommend this watch to others but I'm very disappointed and want Suunto to buy the watch back.

Sorry to hear that's been your experience. The Core has become a huge seller with many more happy customers than not. Sorry this is not the case for you. Stay on Suunto - they will honor warranty.

Thumbs down

I agree, the Suunto Core is not up to par, it is cheaply built, and the fit is horrendous! The only option is to buy an orange band with a black face, no other options available! thumbs down on this watch, had to replace the battery twice since October. I fly in AFghanistan and the alti/baro, not accurate one bit??? Sorry Suunto, no kudos here especially when I rely on a watch in the place I am at????

Will they really honor the warranty

If they do, be prepared to get yourself a new watch to use while they have it for a couple of months.

Thumbs down Another in a long line

I agree with wendylittle...Core is a another poor suunto product. I am speaking from a historical prospective when I say quality has tanked. My first Suunto was an Xlander...a great piece of gear, so when I wanted to update I had no quams about buying a Suunto and I bought the X6HRM. That watch just went completely blank...back to the Xlander...decided to look at the observer...alarm almost useless but fortuneatly I was able to return it...back to the Xlander. Along comes the Core and I gave that a try. Almost immediately it would hang...contacted help desk and they were no help...they said send it in for about 4 weeks...I did some testing and found that turning off one of the beeps resolved the problem so I was using the Core that was eating batteries at 4 a year. Now the last time I replaced the battery the watch is stuck in some diagnois screen that shows s/w level does screen test etc. Can't get the watch back to normal mode. Can't find a CR2430 battery for my reliable Xlander so I am going to buy a Casio and be done with this poor quality product line. Geez I AM a slow learner..
