So I just got a core and at the end of the first day wearing it, vertical lines appeared on the screen that make the numbers impossible to read. Also a lot of the symbols are lit up like alarm , even though i did not turn alarm on. When i switch to alti-barro or compass, the battery indicator also turns on. Is it simply out of juice? ON the first day? or is there something more serious wrong with it ? Unfortunately I am not in a place where i can buy a new battery to try it out just yet. thanks!

Try removing the battery for 10 minutes or so and let the watch reset. That might take care of it. Since everything is lit up, it's probably not the battery, but it could be. Regards Sonny

I got my core for Christmas and just the other day I had to replace the battery. I would not necessarily call this a knock against Suunto since you never really know how long a watch has been sitting on a dealers shelf before you buy it buy my Vector is several years old and it still retains the original battery. Fortunately the battery is easily replaced which is why I like the Suunto as much as I do. I was disappointed to see all the problems posted on this site regarding the core, I guess I should feel fortunate to have one that works (knock on wood).
