Light does not work

I got a new Core (green bezel model). Everything seems to work fine except the light doesn't come on.

Is there something I can try to "fix" it or should I just return it for a new one?

Have you checked it in complete darkness? I thought my black/orange core had a faulty light until I checked it in the dark. If there is enough light to read the display the light doesn't appear to be on.
