Thumbs down no calibration possible on CORE

I do press the upper left button to start the compass, if the display tells me to do so. I posed my CORE on a bottle to keep it horizontally while turning. I can turn to neither direction in more than 15 sec per turn. I did start up to turn it clockwise.

Always the "start compass" lights up again.

Is this the (hidden) sign that calibration has taken effect?

This is my second CORE, the first one didn't respond to any button after 1 week. Exchange via after sales was made in 10 days.

So never the less: is it broken again??? Any one out there finding same troubles? What is the message if compensation is done correctly?. Instructions on Handbook are very very very poor on this item!

6.1.1 Calibrating compass
The device needs to be carefully calibrated during first time use and when the
battery is replaced. The device will prompt you when calibration is needed.
To calibrate the compass:
1. Keep the device level, do not tilt it in any directions.
2. Slowly rotate the device clockwise (around 15 seconds per round) until
the compass is activated.

NOTE: If you notice deviations in the compass, you can recalibrate it by keeping
it level and rotating it slowly clockwise until the north indicator shows a stable
value.

Hi ejunge
I have read the manual carefully. It seems to me you didn't get the point of it:
WATH DOES THE DEVICE PROMPT? WICH TEXT OR WHICH SENTENCE? Even in your reply there is nothing about this. If you read the manual, you find nothing, only: "the device prompts you".

Is the prompt: START COMPASS?
IS the prompt HOLD DEVICE HORIZONTALLY (wich doesn't occure when battery was out)
WHAT OCCURS IF CALIBRATION IS DONE?
WHAT PROMPT IF IT IS NOT DONE?

Thanks for a more firm hint, this could help me to understand the device and perhaps the manual.

Hey.. Did a little asking and there is No Prompt for the Compass Calibration... you simply enter the Compass mode, start it if you need to and hold it flat and rotate clockwise. The compass will re-calibrate automatically.

I have the same problem.

The manual isn't clear...when I enter the compass mode, nothing happens for a minute or two then the screen displays "start compass" however, turning with watch as directed gives no results, and no button push provides further results or changes (except pushing the upper right button clears the screen).
am I missing something?

No indicator on calibration

there is NO indicator in compass calibration mode. You just make the calibration and it resets itself automatically...

I know it is a little confusing. But it DOES re-calibrate
