Lumi - problems with log-function altitude Hi! There exist a problem with the log-function in the covered altitude with my lumi. The log measures exorbitant covered altitude, which rises into phantasy values. Did anyone experience the same problem? On the Suunto website, I did not find listed bugs from the lumi. Did anyone already get a fix for that problem? Schliefer ![]()

Hi! I have the same problem with my Lumi. I've brought it to the shop where it was bought and they replace it with a new one but... The log function still doesn't work! I'm very disappointed! If you fix the problem please reply to my post! thanks

I have had 3 replacement suunto lumi watches since february 2009, all have faulty log altitude recorders, recording logs of 2500 ish metre ascents, sometimes over very short time periods. On each occasion suunto say i am unlucky as there is no known fault with the lumi. With some of the watches the barometer also reads incorrectly, though the current one seems fine in this respect. Having searched the forum and found other people have this problem, i know think it must be a problem with all the lumis, does anyone have one that reads logs correctly? I am very disappointed and think i may ask for a refund and get a different suunto instead which is a shame as the aesthetics of the watch are very good.

Same problem, log faulty Great to find other users of the Lumi! I am almost starting to feel stupid, thinking of using my Suunto warranty to get watch #5... I have exactly the problem described, inaccurate altitude readings. Maybe related to when watch is attached to my bare arm, and I am sweating? Altimeter may pulse +/- 50 meters, and the log total of course gets completely insane total ascent/descent figures. When replacing my 3rd Lumi, Suunto replied on my direct question that yes, it could be related to me using it directly against the skin, more or less admitting possibilities for bad gauge positioning on the back of the watch. Forgot to bring my carabiner attachment during my most recent hikings, so I do not know if this is solving the problem. But, of course, a wrist watch should be possile to use on the wrist! My boyfriend's Core is working perfectly under the same conditions, when we are compering. Annoying! Should maybe ask for a replacement, or a refund? Shame that I love everything else about the watch, except for having a day counter instead of a normal hours/minutes timer. ![]()
