Core Stainless Band Break

I've had my stainless Core about 6 months, and the band broke this week. The back side has black links which I thought were metal - they're plastic and one of them snapped through nothing but normal usage.

Anyone else have a similar problem? Is there another stainless band that fits that's more durable? Does Suunto replace the bands when they break?

Thanks.

Suunto Core Steel band replacement

Hi, It is a bit sad to find out this late that the steel band isnt actually steel but the steel squares are joined together with plastic rubbery links. The band itself looks very snazzy though but it breaks. I was very dissapointed when I got mine but returned it to Amazon for refund and ordered the one with black leather band.

I am concidering buying one of these 24mm steel band replacement, they are miles cheaper but propper quality steel bracelets, but havent tried it yet : follow the link

Stainless Steel Watch Bands > SOLID - 24mm

but if I get any problems with the suunto functions or display I guess I'll return it for refund after reading on this forum. What bugs me is barometer shows 2hpa higher value than it should and if I set pressure reference, the value for altitude jums 9-10m lower than it should. The previous suunto from Amazon uk had the same issue. I wonder if this can be fixed. It would be good if you could set reference for both at the same time.
Also the display figures are shown in various shades of black not one shade of black. Did you have Simmilar issues ?

Hope you like the bands, it took me some time to find them.

Thank
