New watch, works well except for beep before each hour

Hi everyone, I have a new Suunto Core. I bought one a couple of months ago, but it was resetting due to static. The new one is problem free other than 1 minor complaint (but it may be a setting I'm missing). At :59 of each hour (such as 4:59) the watch beeps once very quickly. I'd like to turn that off, but I can't seem to find a setting to do it. The button tones and guides are all set to off.

S/N is 9XXXX
S/W is 1.1.0
H/W is 3A

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Chris

To my knowledge the Core does not have an hourly chime. Did you check to see if the countdown timer is on and set for 1 hour?

Countdown timer is set for 5 minutes and needs to be started by me in order to work. Thanks for the idea, but that's not it.

The weirdest thing is it's not even an hourly chime, it goes off 1 minute before the hour.

Maybe I need to call Suunto ... I have a feeling they're going to tell me that they have no idea what I'm talking about though.

Any other ideas would be welcome.

Chris

Grub is on a distinguished road
By chance I just noticed the same thing on my new Core. It has never beeped hourly before. This morning I chnged to auto mode (for baro/alti profile). And after that it has beeped. And as you say, Not at for instance 8:00 sharp, but at 7:59...

I am 100% sure it has not beeped like that before, and I am also sure that I did not change anythinge else than turning on the auto function. Strange indeed!

MI_SS_IL: Does you Core beep also when you are not in auto mode?

And after keeping track on this during te day, it only happened one (described above). So perhaps this was not a clue to your problem afetr all, sorry...

I don't think the beep mine did at 7:59 was a beep for the automatic changing between alti and baro though... Stayed still indoors and no rapid changes...).

Yes, mine does still beep when I'm not in auto mode. I usually keep it in Barometer profile. I haven't noticed yet if it beeps in any other profile. I'll test it out.

I pulled the battery, reset, and have had no problem since. Guess I should have tried that first.

Hello! I have the same problem as you describe in this thread. I have used my Suunto Core for about 7-8 months maybe, it has a previous owner so it wasn't brand new when I got it. Anyway, all this time I have used it, it has never done this, but immediately after I replaced the battery it started beeping. It is not even at a specific time, it could be 3 times in 15 minutes or once a day. But mostly it is often. Why is it doing this?!
I tried pulling the battery and it still beeps...
I would be grateful for any tips.
