Suunto Core Died

My Core watch's display is blank and it does not respond to any of the buttons.

It appears the battery has died.

I had the watch for 5 months, purchased it in January 09.

What do i do now?

I am located in Canada, it appears Suunto only offers returns from 30 European countries and United States.

Serial: 801xxxxxx

See postings under "All Core Problems" regarding problems similar to this which seem to be related to static. Did you get a battery low warning before the watch died? The first time it happened to me I assumed the battery was dead but was puzzled that I got no warning beforehand. Realise now it was a different problem.

not being funny here but why not just put a new battery in?

an 801 serial no was week 1 2008, so a year and 19 weeks, almost 20 weeks since it came off the production line, and suunto have been known to use whatever stock of batteries they had lying around.

You'll probably find there's nothing wrong, certainly nothing requiring warranty work.

I'd try a new battery and make sure it is inserted correctly (not trying to be funny here either, I've put them in backwards before).
