| With great TREPIDATION I announce I am now a Core owner. I bet many can understand how you want to like something because of its beauty, its design and its function but have a deep fear of when the blank screen will appear, when the baro will misfunction, when you pull the pocket out of a sleeve and the static phenom occurs. Yet I bought the watch anyway...which in a way is quite funny. I have an X9i that is a complete failure-- the battery failed just after 1.5 years of use, went through the he** in returning; it was returned and only a week into the new battery it goes dead....so the x9i sits collecting dust with me not wanting to sink another $70 into that dark hole. So why another Suunto? Well I also have an Advizor which has performed flawlessly for almost 6 years---so many trips, so many hikes and it has never balked. So I try again, praying, hoping that my new Core doesn't suddenly die! SERIOUS question for core owners- Did anyone notice what year is displayed when you first boot up the watch out of the box? Mine said 2007 ????? Is there any significance to this? Thanks! |
