Grid reference of present location!!??

I have a x9mi,and the 'User manual' is quite sketchy about how you use the GPS to get your 'current location'...i.e. a grid reference that can be used in conjuntion with a map!! Any ideas/help please??!!

I found a website that will list your current gps location. You can move the map until you find your location and match the coordinates with your X9mi. It is fairly accurate.

Adjust yuor setting to use the UTM settings on your watch rather than traditional Lat Lon.. It takes a little getting used to to use UTM but it is a lot easier one you use it a bit...

okay now go and get a UTM card reader like here at REI

finally you can use this on most maps, as most modern maps have UTM grid lines on the outside.. they are blue lines.. or look like blue hash Marks..

This is a way that you can find yourself in the field. Depending on your map resoluton it is also a bit more accurate than lat lon.

Also if you are really serious..... get the Nat'l Geo state series for your state. It helps you create your own maps and you can create ref points with UTM coordinates...
