Just a quick info, is the x9i / mi, when getting a fix for the gps, adjust the altimeter in the same time, for a more accurate reading?

Baro is a separate instrument

No, the Barometer and Altimeter is a separate device that is not tied into the GPS at all. IT does not affect the GPS reading..

The GPS DOES calculate the altitude based on triangulation of GPS sats, but that information is notoriously sketchy (and is for all GPS receivers), as it takes at least five to six satellite locks to make an accurate calculation. (This is much easier on airplanes as they are higher and there is some differentiation between the surface of the earth and the the airplane.. )

The Altimeter is based only on the air pressure. You can, if you have a good GPS lock, take the GPS altitude and input it as a reference altitude, and use that as a starting place..

Hope this helps
