Your X9i will aquire satelites faster if you perform a 'first fix'
Please ensure that your X9i is fully charged before performing a first fix.
1. Enter Time Mode, Press 'ENTER', Select 'Units' Press Enter, Select 'Position', Press 'ENTER' Change to 'UTM' Press 'ENTER'
2. Select 'Datum', Press Enter, Select 'WGS84', Press Enter
3. Press 'Back', 'Back' Then 'Up' To enter 'Activity Mode'
4. Press Enter, Select GPSfix, Press 'Enter', Select '1 sec', Press 'Enter', 'Back' then 'Up'
5. Go outside - this must be somewhere with an unobstructed view of the sky and remove the X9i from your wrist.
6. Press and hold 'ENTER' for 3 seconds, Select GPS, Press 'ENTER', Select 'ON', Press 'ENTER', 'UP' then 'ENTER' to enter the 'Position' display.
7. Place the X9i on a flat surface with the face pointing towards the sky and leave it in this position for 20 minutes. You can see the number of satelites fixed/found on the top left of the display next to 'Sat'.

The first gps fix has now been completed and the next time you wish to use the gps you will be able to connect faster to the satelites in your area.

This first fix is effective for a 200km radius - if you travel further than that you should perform the first fix again in your new location.

Please note that the X9i will always connect to satelites faster if you are not moving.
